It is made from flame-retardant knitted polyester and features a retroreflective tape for increased visibility. The waistcoat has covered seams to prevent flaming debris from entering the garment, and a self-coloured flame-retardant binding to prevent unraveling. The zip fastener is also made from fire-retardant plastic.
